Core Principles

Granby Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist Church, holding to Reformed Tradition. The church located in the heart of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. We are conservative in our doctrine and are committed to upholding and carrying out the Great Commission as set forth by our Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:16-20

  • We believe that every born-again believer exists for the glory of God. We believe that we are to bring glory to God through our lifestyle as a whole. The entire ministry of the church and every endeavor of the believer’s life is to bring glory to God.
  • As believers in Jesus Christ we are to live our lives to honor and exalt the risen Lord

  • We believe the risen Lord Jesus Christ deserves full recompense for His suffering. We believe that Christ should be paramount in every aspect of our daily life as believers.
  • We believe the risen Lord Jesus Christ should be supreme in every facet of church life as well.

  • We believe the Bible is the absolute truth of God's Word revealed. The Bible serves as the foundational authority for doctrine, preaching, and teaching.
  • We believe verse-by-verse biblical expository preaching is the preferential method of proclaiming the truth of the Bible.

  • We believe the educational ministry of the church should enable believers of all ages and stages of maturity.
  • We believe it is essential to teach sound doctrine according to the faith as described in the Scriptures.

  • We believe in the teaching principles of Biblical manhood and womanhood. We are committed to helping parents teach and train their children in Godliness.
  • Our children and youth ministries are intended to support and substantiate the teaching of children by their parents

  • We believe it is by the authority of the risen Lord Jesus Christ and Scripture that it is the responsibility of every genuine believer in the local church to proclaim the Gospel in accordance to Acts 1:8.
  • We believe the Biblical Gospel is the sufficient and exclusive means by which God converts sinners, and must be taken to all peoples and all nations, through faithful support of missionaries and personal evangelism.
  • We believe that the Great Commission is the specific duty, responsibility, and privilege of every genuine believer to reproduce who they are in Jesus Christ. We do this in accordance to the commands Jesus left with His immediate disciples as found in the four Gospels and the Book of Acts
    • Matthew 28:16-20(ESV) 16Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
    • Mark 16:14-15(ESV) 14Afterward he appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen. 15And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.
    • Luke 24:47-48(ESV) 47and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48You are witnesses of these things.
    • John 20:21(ESV) 21Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”
    • Acts 1:8(ESV) 8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
